Who is a Member?
BAPTIZED MEMBERSHIP
Baptized members are all members who have been baptized in the name of the Tri-une God and who are under the spiritual care of the pastor of this congregation including the children who have not yet been confirmed.
Baptized members strive to conform their lives to their baptismal vows; and avail themselves of the worship, educational and service opportunities of the congregation that will contribute to the development of the Christian faith; and pursue in due time catechetical instruction which will lead to the Rite of Confirmation.
FULL COMMUNICANT MEMBER
Communicant members are those baptized members who have been confirmed in the Lutheran faith, and accept the doctrinal teachings of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS).
Communicant members strive to conform their entire lives to the rule of God’s Word and make diligent use of the means of grace, exercise their faithful stewardship of God’s gifts, and impart and accept admonition as the need for such admonition becomes apparent.
Communicant members who are 18 years or older are also voting members of the congregation.
MEMBERSHIP TRANSFER/AFFIRMATION OF FAITH
If you are a member of a sister LCMS congregation or in a church that is in fellowship with the LCMS such as the Lutheran Church Canada (LCC) you may request a transfer of your membership by the pastor. Under special circumstances you may be received by affirmation of faith and accept the doctrinal teachings of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS).
